ABOUT
Hi I’m Ikra :)
Founder of Studio IKRA and an artist & designer based in London, UK. I’m excited to be expanding my public realm art practice into homeware designs that bring bold textiles to everyday spaces.
My earliest exploration of the power of shape and pattern came through my mum’s collection of Pakistani textiles - from hand embroidered fabrics and woven prayer mats to Islamic geometric designs. These all embraced abstract art as a way to honour the divine. This exposure sparked my passion for creating art that inspires reflection and brings a sense of intention and beauty into our daily lives.
My journey into designing homeware textiles began during an artist residency in Somerset, where I transformed an accommodation pod with mural art and custom made shelf objects. I also introduced soft furnishings such as a throw blanket, cushions, and rugs, and was inspired by how bold textiles could completely shift the energy of a room.
Drawing from ancient symbolism and architectural forms, Studio IKRA pieces are designed to enhance people's connection with their home environments. These textiles invite you to express your personal style and create spaces that reflect who you are. Whether you’re drawn to minimalism or playful patterns, these pieces are designed to bring joy and self expression into your everyday life.
